“The Vision of Everything App”

At the heart of Elon Musk’s “everything app” vision is the ability to perform transactions such as in-app payments, shopping, banking and fund transfers at low cost.

Musk may have knowledge in this area from his experience at bahamas phone number data PayPal, but getting the necessary approvals and licenses will take time, perhaps even years. It seems likely that it will take a long time for X to provide payments on the scale Musk envisions.

Musk’s constant criticisms of key institutions and governments will not help in this process. Additionally, X currently has 80% of its previous headcount, meaning development processes will need to be run by fewer people.

While it is anticipated that X will make some progress on its payment systems by the end of 2024, it will not yet fully achieve its “everything app” vision.

X’s revamped verification process not only allowed users to purchase blue ticks, but also misstepped by removing these badges from previously verified profiles. This reduced the appeal of X Premium, as users were perceived as simply paying to use X, not to make themselves more important on the platform.
