Especially in this period of pandemic, neologisms related to 'smart' working have been born in abundance , which have contributed to an already very confusing situation.
So let's try to clarify the definition of smart working and what it is not.
The definition of smart working, which without Anglicisms is called 'agile work', as per Italian law is:
“a method of performing the subordinate employment relationship established by agreement between the parties, including with forms of organization by phases, cycles and objectives and without specific constraints on working hours or place, with the possible use of technological tools to carry out the work activity.”
This definition is also not particularly clear-cut, with terms such as france email list 'possible use' and 'also with forms...', but three elements clearly emerge:
- the voluntary nature of the choice on both sides
- the new forms of work organization required
- the absence of precise constraints on places and times
It is clear, therefore, that if your company allows you to work from home one day a week, it cannot be properly called smart working.
Companies that do smart working, especially in Italy, are pioneers who are trying to change the “traditional” way of working, the one that necessarily requires being behind a desk, in an office, from 9 to 18 from Monday to Friday.
The foundation of agile work is mainly trust between employer and employee.
Furthermore, smart working involves a new type of contract, and in this way it differs from home working or remote working.
