March is the month we celebrate Docker 's birthday ! This year, the event was led by our CTIO, André Fernandes, who gave a lecture on the system to an audience eager to denmark mobile database about container technology, which is still new to many people, as we saw at the event.
Docker’s anniversary celebration began with a great explanation of Docker’s history, which began as a company – called Dot Cloud – that provided a cloud PaaS solution for other companies. Docker was then a spin-off that took on a life of its own, rebranding the company that created it and outgrowing the original dotCloud solution (which was sold to another German company).
Docker currently positions itself as a producer of tools for building and managing containerized clouds. The products responsible for each action mentioned are Docker Community and Docker Enterprise, respectively.
The talk focused on Docker CE, Docker EE and Kubernetes products. The event content was relevant for both beginners and more experienced developers. Those who are just starting out in the containerization universe enjoyed very educational content regarding the entire application ecosystem.
This was the case for Bruno, 32, who is a developer and is starting projects on his own. He was excited about the advantages of the container.
“ The container will generate enormous flexibility. I will structure my application in an easier way, making the image run in a simpler way, having the advantages of a simpler, much faster deployment.” Bruno stated.
Those with more experience were able to share experiences and get up to date on the technology. This was the case of Hilton, 36 years old, who was already quite knowledgeable about the technology and highlighted the need to adopt Docker.
